Private Coaching - Recent Clients

Before

Michael Damian was the star of TV’s The Young and the Restless as well s the Broadway star of  Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. He had film and stage stylists  dressing him for those parts, but when it came time to switch careers and go into directing , Michael wanted to find his own look.

Michael told us, “ I need help with my transition and is urgent that I create MY OWN LOOK, and not one like my character Danny on Y and R.”

Lori Carrell was  a well respected PHD and was on the verge of getting the chance to host a new PBS series called Conversations with God when she contacted us. Producers had told her that while they loved her expertise, her look wasn’t quite right. After private coaching on hair make-up and wardrobe, we tweaked her look just enough to make a world of difference. Lori got her dream job as host and has never looked back.

"Wow!  What a change! Now, I can work with that!" -- that was the (off-camera!) comment of the lighting designer when I returned to the set of my new TV show after my "transformation."  Professor to TV host -- that's the change I needed to make and these women made it happen!  With personalized advice provided in writing, over the phone, in e-mails and with photos, JoJami and Deborah coached me to an appropriate media image.  An appearance inspection can be fairly intimidating (!!) so what I appreciated most was their encouragement and affirmation through the process!  I took their suggestions to the beauty shop and the mall, ultimately avoiding costly mistakes.

As host of the show "Ask God" I need to facilitate dialogue among rambunctious guests who are wrestling with "big" questions from people out on the streets.  As a professor of communication, I love the stimulating conversation on the show, and now, with the help of JoJami and Deborah, I'm confident that my appearance is camera-ready!

Above: Laura in the green room

Right: Laura on Air!

Laura has a wonderful high end photography business and wanted to get on TV as an expert in her field, to get more publicity and more clients.
Laura specializes in  wedding and childrens’ portraits, and needed to portray a warm but professional look for TV.  After  some coaching on how to pitch herself, Laura landed a spot on TV. We did some careful editing and chose this outfit for Laura to wear on camera for her big interview, which turned out to be a great success.

Amy Tieman, author of Mojo Mom, was pitching herself at the National Publicity Summit, when the producers from the TV show The View met her and wanted her to appear on the show. However, they said, “ We think your look is not quite right and we want you to grow out your hair.” That is when she asked for help, and a makeover.

“My Media Image Coaching made me realize that I was dressing too corporate for my topic. I was so  so glad that I was able to find someone to help me  get the right look so I could get booked on TV!”

Rose Girosso is a successful interior designer who was trying to pitch herself to the media but not having much luck. After taking a look at her Media press kit headshot we realized why. Her existing photos looked dark and amateur.

We gave Rose some a few easy suggestions which resulted in a dramatic change. Now she looks like a professional  interior designer you’d see on TV.

As a  top radio host at WIQB in Canada Wayne Kelly never worried much about his image because after all no one ever saw him, they only heard his voice…until Wayne created  his own website and became famous for teaching people how to get on the Radio. He came to us for help with his media Image and headshot.

I have gone from behind the microphone to in front of it, and had no idea I was wearing the wrong thing. Thanks to one- on one Media Image coaching, I have a new headshot that looks great!” Wayne Kelly ~host of The Wayne and Jane Radio Show and publicity coach.
